Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Pegasus is for permission-based email. This policy protects recipients, our customers and the reputation of everyone who sends through Pegasus. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Permission
- Every person you email must have agreed to receive email from you, or be an existing customer who would reasonably expect it and has not opted out, in line with the law that applies to them.
- You must be able to show how and when each address was obtained.
- Not allowed: purchased, rented, traded, shared or scraped lists; addresses harvested from websites or directories; lists from co-registration or affiliates; and addresses gathered for one purpose then used for another.
- Role addresses (such as info@ or sales@) are not imported, and addresses that bounce or complain are suppressed permanently.
2. Every marketing email must
- Come from a domain you own and have verified in Pegasus, with an honest sender name and subject line.
- Show your real postal address.
- Contain the unsubscribe link Pegasus adds, which must not be removed, hidden or made hard to use. Unsubscribes take effect immediately.
3. Prohibited content
You may not use Pegasus to send content that is illegal, deceptive or harmful, including:
- Phishing, impersonation, malware or links to them.
- Misleading claims, fake invoices, or deceptive subject lines or headers.
- Get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid or multi-level marketing recruitment, and illegal gambling.
- Illegal goods or services, or content that infringes others' rights.
- Sexually explicit content, hate speech, harassment or threats.
4. Healthy sending
We monitor every company's bounce and spam-complaint rates. Measured over the last 7 days, a company whose bounce rate reaches 4% (once it has sent 50 emails), or whose spam-complaint rate reaches 0.1% (once it has sent 1,000 emails, or sooner if complaints pile up), is paused automatically until the list is cleaned. New companies start with daily limits that rise over time, early campaigns go to a small test group first, and large lists imported by new companies are reviewed by our team before they can be emailed.
5. Enforcement
We may pause sending, require you to remove contacts, or suspend or close accounts that break this policy, with or without notice where needed to protect recipients or the Service. Serious or repeated abuse leads to permanent closure.
6. Reporting abuse
If you received unwanted email sent through Pegasus, use its unsubscribe link and tell us at abuse@pegasusemailmarketing.com, including the email if you can. We investigate every report.
